WE KICKED IT OFF OFFICIALLY LAST WEEK, NOT WITH ALL OUR STUDENTS, BUT JUST WITH GETTING INTERCESSION BACK IN IN FULL GEAR.

WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE SECOND SEMESTER.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A LOT OF STILL CONCERN WITH THE VARIANTS OF COVID STILL ACTIVE. I JUST WANT THE COMMUNITY UNDERSTAND THE PLEXIGLASS IS STILL UP AT ELEMENTARY LEVELS. IF IT'S NOT, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PRINCIPAL.

IT SHOULD BE UP. WE'RE STILL DOING THE MISTING EVERY NIGHT THAT WE'RE ONE OF THE FEW DISTRICTS THAT DID THIS PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC.

THIS IS A PROJECT THAT WAS RECENTLY APPROVED BY THE BOARD LAST MONTH, AND WHAT WE WANT TO DO IS TO GIVE YOU JUST A QUICK UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF THE PROJECT AND HOW THE PROJECT IS GOING TO COMMENCE.

I WANTED TO TAKE THIS TIME TO PRESENT TO YOU, GARY AANENSON, WHO IS THE PROJECT EXECUTIVE FOR CORE CONSTRUCTION.

HE WILL INTRODUCE HIS TEAM AND THEN HE WILL PRESENT TO YOU.

WE UNDERSTAND IN THE SCHOOL BUSINESS SCHOOL ALWAYS STARTS IN AUGUST.

WE UNDERSTAND THIS IS AN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AND WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE FACILITY IS OPEN AND OPERATIONAL WHEN YOU NEED IT.

WE'LL DIG A LITTLE BIT MORE INTO THE DETAILS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROJECT SCHEDULE

PROPOSED FOR THIS PROJECT, BUT KNOW THAT WE WILL DELIVER YOUR PROJECT ON TIME.

EVEN WITH THE CRAZINESS OF THE CURRENT MARKET CONDITIONS, WE WILL DELIVER THIS PROJECT ON TIME. WE'VE WORKED IN MORE THAN 900 ACTIVE FACILITIES, SO OBVIOUSLY A PORTION OF THIS FACILITY WILL REMAIN COMPLETELY OPERATIONAL THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT, AND WE UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TAKES TO KEEP EVERYBODY IN THIS FACILITY SAFE AT ALL TIMES AND WE'LL TAKE THE NECESSARY MEASURES IN ORDER TO DO SO.

WE'VE BEEN IN THE NORTH TEXAS MARKET FOR THIRTY ONE YEARS AND WE ARE THE THIRD LARGEST SCHOOL BUILDER IN THE UNITED STATES AND HAPPY TO HAVE GARLAND ISD AS A NEW CLIENT.

OBVIOUSLY, THIS PROJECT, AS MANY OF YOU MAY KNOW, IS A HEAVY MECHANICAL RETROFIT.

SO THIS IS AN EXISTING ROOFTOP HVAC UNIT SYSTEM WE'LL BE CONVERTING THE ENTIRE FACILITY TO A WET, CHILLED WATER PIPING AND HOT WATER BOILER SYSTEM.

AND SO SELECTING OUR MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR, IT'S ABOUT 40 PERCENT OF THE ENTIRE CONTRACT IS OUR SUBCONTRACT WITH THAT PARTNER.

SO MAKING SURE WE HAD THE RIGHT PARTNER WAS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROJECT. WE HAVE SELECTED H&G SYSTEMS. THEIR HEADQUARTERS IS JUST ONE MILE FROM THIS FACILITY DIRECTLY TO THE SOUTH.

THEY WERE FOUNDED IN 1968 AND THEY'VE BEEN IN THAT FACILITY ONE MILE FROM THIS BUILDING SINCE 1970.

AND THEY ARE ABSOLUTE EXPERTS AT WATER BASED HVAC SYSTEMS AND WITHOUT QUESTION, THE MOST EXPERIENCED FIRM IN THE DALLAS-FORT WORTH MARKET FOR THIS TYPE OF HVAC SYSTEM.

SO IT WAS AN OBVIOUS CHOICE WHEN SELECTING OUR PARTNER FOR THIS PROJECT.

THEY'VE GOT A GREAT EMR RATING POINT SEVEN ONE IT'S INCREDIBLY LOW FOR INDUSTRY AVERAGE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE, LIKE WE SAID, WORKING ALSO IN OCCUPIED FACILITIES AND THAT STATISTIC THERE, THE 80 PERCENT OF THEIR PROJECTS ARE WATER BASED HVAC SYSTEM.

OBVIOUSLY, THE EXISTING SYSTEM THERE IS NO WATER BASE.

IT'S OBVIOUSLY ALL ROOFTOP UNITS.

THE NEW SYSTEM WILL BE CHILLER BASED, WILL INSTALL NEW CHILLERS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE FACILITY. AND THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH US, WHICH IS IMPORTANT FOR GARLAND ISD TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE'VE WORKED TOGETHER SUCCESSFULLY BEFORE.

THEY'VE WORKED WITH OUR ARCHITECTURAL PARTNER GLENN PARTNERS, SUCCESSFULLY BEFORE.

AND THEN ALSO LASTLY, THEY'VE WORKED FOR GARLAND ISD ON YOUR COMPLICATED MULTI WATER PIPE SYSTEMS SUCCESSFULLY IN THE PAST AS WELL.

SO I THINK THAT KIND OF ALL COMING TOGETHER IS A HUGE, GREAT FOUNDATIONAL PIECE TO OUR TEAM IN DELIVERING THIS PROJECT SUCCESSFULLY.

I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND HAND IT OVER TO BRANDON AND TO JESS TO KIND OF WALK YOU THROUGH SOME OF THE LOGISTICS AND SOME OF OUR SCHEDULE PROPOSALS.

GOOD AFTERNOON. SO WHAT WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT HERE, THE LOGISTICS IS THE FACT THAT WE WILL HAVE OPEN COMMUNICATION WITH THE FACILITIES WITH JAVIER TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE LIMITING OUR INTERACTION WITH YOUR CURRENT STAFF THAT WILL BE ON SITE DURING THE ENTIRE OR A PORTION OF THIS PROCESS OF BUILD.

SECONDLY, THEN WE GO INTO THE TWO STORY.

THIS PART OF THE BUILDING MARCH 1ST IS WHEN WE'RE ANTICIPATING MOBILIZING AND OUR BOOTS WALK INTO THIS BUILDING AND WE START CONSTRUCTION THAT WILL RUN ALL THE WAY UNTIL THE END OF JUNE.

THE THREE STORY WE'RE ASKING TO START AND OUR BOOTS WALKING IN THE BUILDING OF THE THREE STORY BUILDING ON JUNE 1ST.

AND STILL WITH THE MINDSET WE WILL BE DONE BY OCTOBER 3RD.

HENCE, WHY WE HAVE ALSO PICKED H&G.

THEY ARE KEY COMPONENTS TO MAKE SURE WE'RE DONE.

ONE OF THE BIG CONSTRAINTS WE HAVE ON THIS, OUR LONG LEAD TIMES ON SOME OF THE HVAC

SO CONSTANT COMMUNICATION IS VERY PARAMOUNT TO US AND OUR INTERACTIONS WITH YOU GUYS.

BUT WITH THE TWEAKING AND REARRANGING OF THE SCHEDULE, WE STILL MAINTAINED OUR FINISH DATE OF 10-3.

BUT UNDERGROUND PLUMBING PIPING IS A NINE WEEK LEAD TIME THAT'S COMING ON TO THIS.

SO WE'RE ACTIVELY GOING TO GET THOSE SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND GET ON TO THAT PACE.

WE CAN GET THAT STUFF ORDERED IN TIME.

THIS IS AN INTEGRAL PIECE TO OUR APPROACH TO YOUR PROJECT.

SO JANAH THE WHOLE TEAM AT GLENN PARTNERS HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB DOING AS MUCH ANALYSIS WITH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS OF THIS FACILITY.

BUT HONESTLY, UNTIL WE OPEN UP THESE CEILINGS AND TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT'S ABOVE THESE CEILINGS AND HOW THEY INTERACT WITH OUR NEW CONSTRUCTION, THERE COULD BE SOME CONFLICTS.

AND SO WE'LL USE THIS LASER SCANNING TECHNOLOGY AS SOON AS WE COMPLETE THE DEMO ACTIVITIES TO COME IN AND SCAN ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AND THEN OVERLAY THAT WITH OUR DOCUMENTS SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES.

WE DON'T WANT TO BE INSTALLING DUCTWORK, UNDERSTANDING THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO FIT AND OUR CEILING HEIGHTS ARE GOING TO DROP.

WE'RE SOLVING THOSE PROBLEMS AHEAD OF TIME.

SO THIS IS A TECHNOLOGY THAT WE PREVIOUSLY JUST USED AT RICHARDSON ISD AND WE PLAN TO USE ON YOUR PROJECT AS WELL.

AND THEN THIS OTHER TECHNOLOGY IS GREAT FOR CAPTURING PROGRESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. SO HISTORICALLY, CONTRACTORS TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS.

THEY TURN ALL THE INFORMATION OVER TO THE CLIENT.

THIS IS UTILIZING 360 DEGREE PHOTOGRAPHY, SO WE'RE TAKING 360 DEGREE PHOTOGRAPHS, PROGRESS PHOTOS THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS.

SO WHEN WE COME IN ON MARCH 1ST INTO THIS SPACE, THE VERY FIRST THING WE'RE GOING TO DO IS WE'RE GOING TAKE 360 DEGREE PHOTOGRAPHS OF ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AND THEN WE'LL CONTINUE TO TAKE THOSE PHOTOGRAPHS EVERY WEEK AS WE PROGRESS THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. AND WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THIS IS WE GIVE OUR CLIENTS ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION. SO JAVIER AND PAUL AND THEIR ENTIRE TEAM WILL HAVE A LOG INTO THE SOFTWARE.

THEY CAN COME IN AND SEE THE PROGRESS AND KEEP TRACK OF IT.

SO IF WE WANT TO DO AN ADDITION IN THIS SPACE, OR WE COME BACK AND WANT TO ADD TWO YEARS FROM NOW, WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S BEHIND THAT WALL.

AND WHAT WE FOUND IS WE HAD A CLEAR BREAK BETWEEN THE QUALIFIED VENDORS AND THE ONES NOT QUALIFIED. WE HAVE TWO VENDORS THAT SCORED IN THE 80 POINT SECTOR AND EVERYONE ELSE WAS IN THE 60S OR BELOW.

WE TOOK THE TWO HIGHEST POINT TOTAL INDIVIDUALS GROUPS, WHICH WAS AHI AND LLC, H AND I THINK HES FACILITIES MANAGEMENT.

THOSE TWO COMPANIES WERE THEN EVALUATED BASED ON REFERENCES AND SERVICES THAT WE FELT LIKE THEY COULD PROVIDE TO THE DISTRICT, AND THOSE TWO GROUPS BROUGHT THEIR MANAGEMENT TEAMS IN FOR ACTUAL INSIGHT INTERVIEWS.

MUCH LIKE WHEN CORE CONSTRUCTION CAME AND INTERVIEWED FOR THE HVAC UPGRADE HERE AT HARRIS HILL, THERE WAS NO COMPARISON, OK.

SO THIS PARTICULAR BID IS A LITTLE OVER FIVE AND A HALF MILLION.

SO FIXING TO GO TO 10 OR 11 DOLLARS AN HOUR, SO IT WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE FOR THEM. WE ALSO MADE THE MANDATE, BY THE WAY, AHI MADE A PRESENTATION THAT ALL EQUIPMENT WHEN THEY COME IN WILL BE BRAND NEW.
