THIS ITEM IS WITH THE FEEDBACK AND REQUESTS THE SPREADSHEET IS CONTINUED TO GROW TO HELP UNDERSTAND IT, SO WE WILL TALK THROUGH IT.

WE DO HAVE RICK BLAN FROM PBK WHO HELPED LEAD OUR FACILITIES CONDITION ASSESSMENT FOR THE DISTRICT TWO YEARS AGO AND THEN PAUL GONZALES.

I WILL GO THROUGH THE DETAILED COLUMNS JUST SO THERE'S AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TO READ IT.

AND AT THAT POINT, I WILL TURN IT OVER TO THE BOARD AND MR. BLAN AND MR. GONZALES ALSO FOR ANY UPDATES.

I'VE REACHED OUT TO PBK TO ANSWER SOME OF THE DETAILED QUESTIONS THAT WERE BROUGHT UP, BUT JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE ENROLLMENT UTILIZATION AND PORTABLES ARE PART OF OUR LONG RANGE MASTER PLAN.

SO IF THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO THAT, PBK DID IDENTIFY SOME OF THESE ITEMS. SO I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO MR. BLAN, IF YOU'VE GOT ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS.

I REMEMBER WHEN WE GOT THE REPORTS WHEN WE WORK WITH YOU PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS ONE NUMBER THAT WAS THE HIGHER WAS BETTER, ONE NUMBER THE LOWER WAS BETTER, WHICH IS THE CASE HERE? SO ON FACILITY CONDITION INDEX, THAT IS THE NUMBER OF THE COMPARISON TO REPLACEMENT SCHOOL VERSUS TAKING CARE OF ALL THE IDENTIFIED NEEDS, WHETHER THEIR LIFE CYCLE OR WHETHER THERE ARE-- APPROPRIATE-- EDUCATIONAL APPROPRIATE ITEMS. SO THE HIGHER THE NUMBER ON AN FCI IS NOT GOOD.

RIGHT. AND THEN THE LOWER THE NUMBER ON THE UTILIZATION, IF YOU'RE LOOKING AT THE UTILIZATION COLUMN, THAT IS NOT GOOD, ALSO.

THAT'S JUST TELLING US THAT WE'RE NOT-- THAT THE CAMPUS IS NOT BEING UTILIZED OR DOESN'T HAVE THE ENROLLMENT THAT THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OR THE CLASSROOMS CAN HANDLE. WE LOOK AT THOSE TWO TOGETHER AND THEN WE DO COMPARISONS TO BOTH OF THOSE TOGETHER.

SO WHY DON'T YOU--? IF YOU COULD JUST PICK ONE SCHOOL, GO THROUGH IT SO WE ALL CAN UNDERSTAND THAT.

WHEN WE DO A CROSS REFERENCE, WE RANK BY FCI AND THEN WE DO BASICALLY A PIVOT TABLE AND WE RANK BY UTILIZATION. AND WHEN WE GET TO A CAMPUS LIKE LET'S SAY CLUB HILL, SO CLUB HILL HAS A UTILIZATION OF 57, [INAUDIBLE] RIGHT AROUND 57 OR 58, WHILE WE HAVE AN FCI IN THE MID 80S.

SO THAT WOULD TELL US THAT WHILE WE'RE NOT FILLING THE SCHOOL, WE HAVE A LOW UTILIZATION, WE ALSO HAVE AN [INAUDIBLE] FCI THAT'S A CANDIDATE FOR AND THERE'S A COUPLE OF CATEGORIES.

THERE'S EITHER A CONSOLIDATION, THERE'S REPLACEMENT ALSO BECAUSE OF THE FCI SIDE.

AND ALSO IF YOU PUT TWO TOGETHER IN AN AREA THAT ARE CLOSE TO EACH OTHER, IF YOU'RE LOOKING AT UTILIZATION, MAYBE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT CONSOLIDATION OF TWO CAMPUSES.

DID THAT ADDRESS YOUR QUESTION? I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER, WHICH IS THE TOP NUMBER AND THE BOTTOM NUMBER, AND AS WE GO DOWN THE CHART.

MR. BEACH? WHEN WE LOOK AT THE FCI, IS THAT CONSIDERATION FOR THE MAJORITY OF THOSE PERCENTAGES BECAUSE OF EITHER HVAC, PLUMBING? THE STRUCTURE ITSELF, OR THE BUILDINGS THEMSELVES ARE OK, IT'S JUST THE INTERNAL GUTS OF A BUILDING ITSELF, IS THAT A FAIR STATEMENT? YES, SIR.

IN MOST ALL SITUATIONS, THE STRUCTURE IS FINE.

THERE'S A COUPLE OF ITEMS WITHIN THE LONG RANGE MASTER PLAN WHERE WE'VE IDENTIFIED FOUNDATION ISSUES OR SETTLEMENT THAT COULD BE ADDRESSED.

BUT TYPICALLY IT'S ABOUT THE MAJOR ITEMS ROOFING, MECHANICAL, HVAC ITEMS, ALSO ADDITIONS, SO THE EDUCATIONAL ADEQUACY SIDE OF THE FCI COMPONENT, THERE'S ALSO ADDITIONS FOR, LET'S SAY, ADDITIONS FOR CTE, ADDITIONS FOR FINE ARTS, LIGHTING IS ALSO AN EDUCATIONAL ADEQUACY COMPONENT.

IT'S NOT NECESSARILY A TEARING DOWN WALLS WITHINSIDE THE BUILDING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT? OR IS THAT CONSIDERED IN THERE? NOT NOT ACROSS THE BOARD.

SOME AREAS, THEY'RE SMALL CLASSROOMS. SO THAT WOULD FACTOR IN IF YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE THREE CLASSROOMS AND TRY AND ACHIEVE A LARGER TEACHING SPACE, YOU MIGHT TAKE THREE TO COME UP WITH TWO.

SO EVERY NOW AND THEN WE ARE TAKING DOWN A WALL OR TWO.

THAT'S SCATTERED INFORMATION THROUGHOUT THE LONG RANGE MASTER PLAN.

IT'S NOT CONSISTENT THAT ALL OF THE FCI IS ARE ABOUT MOVING WALLS.

OKAY. AND HOW DO THESE PERCENTAGES--.

HOW DID WE, AS A BOARD, FUTURE PLANNING, COMPARE THAT WITH INFLATION THE WAY IT IS TODAY AND THE WAY THAT PRICING IS GOING ON? I MEAN, WHAT'S THE COMPARISON THAT WE CAN LOOK AT? YOU KNOW, THERE'S GOING TO BE-- EITHER THEY'RE GOING TO BE GOING UP PERCENTAGE WISE AS FAR AS THE FCI BECAUSE OF COST.

BECAUSE OF COST, THAT'S CORRECT, SIR.

SO THE CURRENT NUMBERS WE HAVE, WE HAVE UPDATED SINCE THE LAST PRESENTATION THAT I DID RIGHT IN FEBRUARY, MAYBE IT WAS FEBRUARY.

WE DID UPDATE ALL THE NUMBERS TO CURRENT [INAUDIBLE], CURRENT COST.

NOW EVERYONE KNOWS THAT WE'RE STILL ON THE RISE AS FAR AS INFLATION.

THERE'S--. WE DON'T HAVE THE CRYSTAL BALL WE WISH WE DID, BUT OUR PROJECTIONS ARE SOMEWHERE AROUND 1% A MONTH OF INCREASED INFLATION.

CONSTRUCTION COST INFLATION.

MY QUESTION, USING THE CLUB HILL EXAMPLE AND THEN DROPPING DOWN TO THE FREEMAN, YOU'VE GOT ONE BUILDING BUILT IN '74 ON BUILDING, BUILT IN '49.

I WAS JUST THINKING THAT THE FREEMAN FCI WOULD BE WAY HIGHER THAN THE CLUB HILL.

SO WHAT SHOULD I READ INTO THOSE TWO NUMBERS? [INAUDIBLE] TO ME IS NOT EQUAL SOMEHOW.

YES, IT'S A VERY INTERESTING THING ABOUT FCIS AND A VERY GOOD QUESTION.

FCI IS ABOUT THE REPLACEMENT COST COMPARED TO A NEW COST, THE REPLACEMENT COST AND ADDRESSING ALL OF THE LONG RANGE MASTERPLAN ITEMS OR LIFECYCLE ITEMS ARE IN THAT FCI.

SO IF YOU HAVE ONE CAMPUS THAT JUST HAD ALL OF ITS AIRSIDE REPLACED OR JUST HAD A ROOF REPLACED, IT COULD BE THE OLDER CAMPUS, BUT BECAUSE IT NO LONGER NEEDS THE ROOFTOP UNITS OR A NEW ROOF, ITS FCI WILL COME DOWN BY THAT FACT.

SO AS WE DO REPAIRS, ESPECIALLY MAJOR THINGS TO A CAMPUS, THE FCI WILL NATURALLY FALL? YES, SIR. AND THEN SO WITH RESPECT TO THAT, DOES THE SIZE OF THE CAMPUS MATTER OR IS IT JUST THE FCI

INDEX? IT DOES, BECAUSE WE COMPARE IT TO THE COST OF A REPLACING THAT CAMPUS.

RIGHT. SO IF WE'RE COMPARING IT TO THE COST OF REPLACING 100,000 SQUARE FOOT CAMPUS VERSUS AN 85,000, IT'S GOING TO HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE FCI.

SO FOR 100,000 SQUARE FOOT CAMPUS, NATURALLY WOULD HAVE A LITTLE HIGHER FCI, ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, ALL THINGS EVEN? YES, SIR. OKAY.

JUST I THINK WE MAY HAVE SEEN THIS AT SOME POINT, BUT CAN YOU GIVE US AN IDEA IF YOU DO LIKE ALMOST LIKE A GRAPH WHERE YOU HAVE LOW UTILIZATION, HIGH UTILIZATION, LOW FCI, HIGH FCI, WHERE OUR CAMPUSES RANK, AND THEN WHAT THAT MEANS IN TERMS OF WHAT ACTIONS WE SHOULD PROBABLY BE LOOKING AT FOR CAMPUSES IN CERTAIN QUADRANTS? SURE. I'M SURE WE CAN DO THAT.

AS FAR AS A GRAPH TO PUT IN YOUR HANDS? YEAH. BUT THEN JUST KIND OF MAKING SOME RECOMMENDATIONS BECAUSE TO THE POINT THAT YOU MADE AND THEN WITH RESPECT TO MR. MILLER'S QUESTION, THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CLUB HILL AND FREEMAN, I GUESS, YOU KNOW, YOU MAKE STATEMENTS ABOUT FREEMAN'S FCI BEING LOWER BECAUSE OF SOME OF THE RENOVATIONS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE. BUT THEN IN TERMS OF WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE, IN TERMS OF WHAT WE PROBABLY SHOULD DO WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN CAMPUSES, BASED ON UTILIZATION, BASED ON FCI? HOW DOES THAT INFORM THE DECISIONS THAT WE MAKE? SURE. SURE. AND I THINK A VERY HELPFUL HANDOUT WOULD BE THE PIVOT TABLE THAT I MENTIONED.

SO WE RANK THE TOP TEN LOW UTILIZATION AND THEN WE RANK THE TOP TEN HIGH FCI FEES AND THEN WE COMPARE THE TWO TOGETHER AND HIGHLIGHT WHICH ONES ARE FALLING IN THE SAME TOP TEN.

WHICH ONES BOTH? BOTH OF THEM FALL IN THE SAME--.

IF ONE FALLS IN BOTH CATEGORIES OF TOP TEN, THEY'RE A CANDIDATE TO SOME DISCUSSION, WHETHER IT'S A CONSOLIDATION, WHETHER IT'S A REPLACEMENT, WHETHER IT'S A CONSOLIDATING, CLOSE ONE OF THE TWO THAT ARE NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

SO YOU'RE SEEING HIGH UTILIZATION AND HIGH FCI, LOW UTILIZATION AND HIGH FCI.

SO LOW UTILIZATION, WHICH MEANS THE BUILDINGS DESIGNED FOR 800 AND MAYBE THERE'S 400 IN IT HAS A 50% UTILIZATION. THAT'S NOT GOOD.

WE HAVE A LOT OF SPACE TO STILL BE IN AIR CONDITION.

YOU'RE RUNNING THE BUILDING. YOU HAVE ALL THE OPERATIONAL COSTS ASSOCIATED TO THAT.

WHILE YOU MIGHT HAVE ANOTHER CAMPUS CLOSE BY AS WELL, THAT HAS A LOW UTILIZATION AS WELL.

IS IT A CANDIDATE TO MERGE THE TWO TOGETHER? OKAY. THANK YOU. NOW, ONE OF THOSE MIGHT HAVE A HIGHER FCI AND THAT MIGHT LEAD YOU TOWARDS, OKAY, IF THERE IS A CANDIDATE FOR MERGING TWO TOGETHER, WHICH ONE HAS THE HIGHER FCI, WE WOULD MOVE TO THE LOWER FCI.

I KNOW THAT IT SOUNDS VERY CONFUSING, BUT HIGH FCI IS BAD AND LOW UTILIZATION IS NOT GOOD EITHER.

IT'S LIKE THE GOOD CHOLESTEROL AND THE BAD CHOLESTEROL.

[LAUGHTER] YES. MR. MILLER. [INAUDIBLE] I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW I WANT TO WORD MY QUESTION.

SO WITH RESPECT TO THE FCI, A BUILDING BUILT IN 1949 IS NOWHERE NEAR TO THE SAME INFRASTRUCTURE, TECHNOLOGY, EFFICIENCIES, I MEAN, JUST LIGHT YEARS FROM WHAT IS BEING BUILT TODAY, IS THINGS LIKE TECHNOLOGY BUILT INTO YOUR FCI OR WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO BRING THAT BUILDING UP? DOES THAT FACTOR INTO THE COST OR THE-- YES SIR, IT DOES.

OKAY. SO WHEN WE--.

IN THAT EXAMPLE, MAYBE THAT PARTICULAR CAMPUS JUST HAD AN UPGRADE WITH TECHNOLOGY.

MAYBE THE TECHNOLOGY IS FINE ACROSS THE BOARD, ACROSS THE DISTRICT, AND THAT'S NOT A FACTOR FOR THAT FACILITY WHEN IT COMES TO AN FCI STUDY.

AND MAYBE PAUL GONZALES CAN HELP WITH THIS, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE IN SOME OF OUR OLDER CAMPUSES, WE MAY HAVE ADDED THE TECHNOLOGY, THE CABLES, THE WIRES AND ALL THAT STUFF, BUT IT'S LIKE A BIRD NEST UP IN THE ATTIC.

IT'S A MESS.

AND TO ME, THE EFFICIENCY OF THAT, IF YOU EVER HAVE TO CHASE THEM DOWN, FIX SOMETHING AND REWIRE SOMETHING, DROP SOMETHING DOWN.

IT'S JUST A NIGHTMARE AND A MESS.

AND THAT FACTOR ALONE KIND OF, YOU KNOW, WOULD DRIVE ME TO HAVE A CERTAIN OPINION ABOUT ONE FACILITY RIGHTSIZING IT OR MODERNIZING IT VERSUS, YOU KNOW, MAYBE A CONSOLIDATION OR A DO OVER.

WE USE AN FCI AS A TOOL, AS A PLANNING TOOL, BUT WE ALSO SAY THAT THE FCI IS NOT THE BE ALL, END ALL OF A DECISION FOR A CAMPUS.

YOU MAY HAVE THE LOWER FCI THAT WE JUST TALKED ABOUT IN AN AREA THAT IS IT'S JUST IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE, OR YOU HAVE THE SMALLER CLASSROOMS OR THERE'S JUST SOMETHING ELSE ABOUT IT THAT DOESN'T WORK, THAT DOESN'T COME UP IN AN FCI STUDY, AND THERE HAS TO BE DECISIONS OF USING--.

IT'S JUST A TOOL. FCI--.

UTILIZATION IS A LITTLE BIT MORE UNDERSTANDABLE.

IT'S HOW MANY KIDS ARE IN THE BUILDING? DO WE NEED TO REZONE? DO WE BRING MORE KIDS OVER TO THAT AREA, OR THAT ZONE, THAT FEEDER PATTERN, WHAT IT MIGHT BE? BUT THE FCI REALLY HAS TO BE LOOKED AT AS A PLANNING TOOL AND THERE'S SO MANY OTHER VARIABLES THAT COULD COME INTO PLAY.

ALL RIGHT. AND MY LAST FOLLOW UP TO THAT, TOO, ONE OF THE THINGS I THINK I'VE NOTICED, AGAIN, MAYBE IN PAUL'S FIELD, LIKE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS ON THE EXISTING BUILDINGS, SOME OF OUR EXISTING BUILDINGS WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE COST US $250 TO FIX IT, WE'RE WINDING UP HAVING TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE WALL OR JACKHAMMER DOWN A WHOLE HALLWAY OR REPLACE AN ENTIRE PIECE OF PIPE.

YOU KNOW, ALL THOSE THINGS, IF THEY'RE FACTORED INTO THE TO THE FCI, THEN THAT IS MORE MEANINGFUL TO ME BECAUSE WE DO HAVE A MUCH, MUCH, MUCH GREATER MAINTENANCE BILL FOR SOME OF THESE OLD THINGS, JUST TRYING TO KEEP THEM BREATHING VERSUS SOME OF OUR NEW FACILITIES.

SO IF THAT'S BUILT INTO THE FCI, THEN I, YOU KNOW, I GET THAT, SO.

YES, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, WHEN WE DEVELOP THIS WHOLE MASTER PLAN AND THE FACILITIES CONDITION INDEX, OUR MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS WERE AT THE TABLE HAVING THESE CONVERSATIONS WITH PBK.

ANOTHER THING THAT I'D LIKE REALLY QUICK FOR MR. BLAN TO GO OVER, I'D LIKE YOU TO GO OVER THE EXERCISE THAT YOU WENT WITH CURRICULUM AND WITH FACILITIES TO IDENTIFY THESE OVERLAP CAMPUSES. CAN YOU KIND OF GIVE AN OVERVIEW OF THAT REAL QUICK? SURE. SO WE--.

THIS IS, I GUESS, RIGHT NEAR THE END OF LAST YEAR, WE HAD A SESSION WITH SOME OF THE ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM AND ADMINISTRATION TO LOOK AT, OKAY, WE HAVE WHAT I DESCRIBED EARLIER.

WE HAVE THE TOP TEN UTILIZATION--.

EXCUSE ME, THE TOP LOW UTILIZATION, TOP TEN FCI, THE ONES THAT HIT BOTH OF THOSE CATEGORIES, LET'S LOOK AT THOSE AREAS OF THE DISTRICT, LET'S LOOK AT THOSE CAMPUSES, LET'S LOOK AT THEIR PROGRAMS, LET'S LOOK AT ADJACENT CAMPUSES THAT MIGHT ALSO BE IN EACH ONE OF THOSE CATEGORIES.

A COUPLE OF BOARD MEETINGS AGO-- A COUPLE OF FACILITIES AND FINANCE COMMITTEES, THERE WERE SOME COMMENTS MADE ABOUT SOME LOW-- I MEAN, HIGH PRIORITY PROJECTS THAT WE WOULD BE IDENTIFYING FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR.

AND THIS IS REALLY QUICK AN OVERVIEW OF ONE.

SO THE INFORMATION THAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO RECEIVE TODAY IS WE'VE IDENTIFIED THREE HIGH PRIORITY HVAC CAMPUSES THAT WERE NEEDING TO MAKE REPAIRS THIS COMING FISCAL YEAR.

THE FIRST ONE IS LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL COOLING TOWER.

AS YOU KNOW, LAKEVIEW OPENED UP BACK IN IN 1976.

THE COOLING TOWER IS SHOWING VERY HEAVY CORROSION, METAL DETERIORATION, THE FRAME IS STARTING TO COLLAPSE IN SOME AREAS, AND AS I'VE SHARED IN THE PAST, THIS WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR THE CAMPUS.

THIS WOULD BE A SHOWSTOPPER WHERE WE WOULD HAVE TO BRING IN EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT, CHILL WATER SYSTEM EQUIPMENT, TO MAINTAIN COOLNESS AND THIS BUILDING COOLING IN THE BUILDING.

SO THAT'S ONE OF THE HIGH PRIORITIES.

SECOND ONE IS PRETTY MUCH MIRRORING THE FIRST ONE, WHICH IS NAAMAN FOREST HIGH SCHOOL COOLING TOWER.

AGAIN, THAT CAMPUS OPENED UP IN 1988.

IT'S ALSO SHOWING HEAVY CORROSION AND DETERIORATION IN THE COOLING TOWER AND THE INTEGRITY OF THE STRUCTURE.

SO THOSE TWO ARE COOLING TOWERS.

AND THE FINAL PROJECT WOULD BE ROWLETT HIGH SCHOOL, THE FAN COIL UNITS AND AIR HANDLERS.

THAT CAMPUS OPENED UP IN 1996.

THE FAN COIL UNITS AND THE AIR HANDLERS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE BUILDING.

JUST SOME QUICK HISTORY FOR A FEW BOARD MEMBERS THAT MAY HAVE NOT BEEN PART OF THIS, BUT SEVERAL YEARS AGO WE HAD A SECO PROJECT AT ROWLETT HIGH SCHOOL WHICH IDENTIFIED SOME OF THESE ITEMS THAT WERE NOT COVERED BY SECO THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AS MR. GLICK IDENTIFIED AS WE GO THROUGH THE YEARS WITH OUR FACILITIES, YOU KNOW, IT MAY HAVE NOT HAVE BEEN A PRIORITY ONE BACK THEN.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A PRIORITY TWO, BUT NOW IT'S A PRIORITY ONE.

SO WE NEED TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES.

AS YOU CAN SEE THERE LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL.

THERE'S THE PICTURE OF THE COOLING TOWER.

IT SITS IN THE PARKING LOT IN THE CORNER OF THE BUILDING.

AS YOU CAN SEE ON THAT PHOTO TO THE RIGHT, YOU START SEEING THE CORROSION DETERIORATION OF THE FRAME.

JUST SOME MORE DETERIORATION PHOTOS.

THE FANS ARE STARTING TO RUST OUT.

IT'S JUST WAITING TO FAIL AT SOME POINT.

WE DO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ON THIS EQUIPMENT, BUT THE RUST DETERIORATION IS JUST SOMETHING THAT'S PRETTY MUCH JUST OUTLIVED ITS LIFE CYCLE

. NAAMAN FOREST, IF YOU LOOK AT NAAMAN FOREST AND YOU GO BACK AND LOOK AT LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL, IT'S THE SAME FOOTPRINT LAKEVIEW'S GOT IN THE PARKING LOT.

NAAMAN FOREST HAS IT ON THE ROOF.

THE RECOMMENDATION FROM OUR ENGINEERING CONSULTANT HAS IT IDENTIFIED TO MOVE THAT COOLING TOWER DOWN TO THE PARKING LOT TO MAKE IT EASIER TO MAINTAIN THE EQUIPMENT AND GET IT OFF OUR ROOF SYSTEM.

IT REALLY NEEDS TO COME OFF THE ROOF.

IT JUST PUTS MORE STRENUOUS WEIGHT ON OUR ROOF SYSTEM.

AGAIN, YOU COULD SEE ON THE INTERIORS OF THIS ONE THE DETERIORATION OF THE COILS AND THE FANS AND THE FRAMEWORK.

AND THEN THE LAST PROJECT THAT I SPOKE ABOUT, ROWLETT HIGH SCHOOL, THE FAN COIL UNITS AND AIR HANDLER UNITS, IT'S KIND OF HARD TO SHOW, BUT MAYBE ON THE NEXT PHOTO YOU CAN SEE HOW THE CABINETS AND THE FRAMEWORK IS STARTING TO DETERIORATE.

IF YOU REMEMBER, A FEW YEARS AGO I BROUGHT A SECTION OF PIPE AND SHARED WITH THE BOARD.

THE PIPE WAS PRETTY MUCH DETERIORATED.

THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT OF IT.

AND THIS PROJECT WOULD ADDRESS THE PIPING AND THE AIR HANDLER UNITS AND FAN COIL UNITS.

THE RENOVATION COSTS THAT WE'VE COME UP WITH, WORKING WITH EMA FOR THE PROJECT AT ROWLETT HIGH SCHOOL TOTAL [INAUDIBLE]-- IN COST OF WHAT I JUST WENT OVER WITH WOULD-- OVERVIEWED OF WAS $3,151,148.

THAT'S ALL IN COST WITH THE 10% CONTINGENCY.

THE NEXT ONE IS NAAMAN FOREST ALL IN ON THAT ONE WOULD BE $684,200.

AND THEN THE FINAL ONE IS LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL, ALL IN WOULD BE $269,500.

WITH THE TOTAL AMOUNT FOR THE THREE PROJECTS FOR NEXT YEAR WOULD BE $4,104,848.

THE TIMELINE FOR THIS PROJECT WOULD BE KICKING OFF HERE IN JUNE.

WE'VE DONE A LOT OF PRELIMINARY STUFF, BUT PRETTY MUCH JUNE WOULD BE THE TIMELINE PROPOSED TO DO THE WORK AND THEN WITH THE END DATE IN JULY OF '23.

WE IDENTIFIED ON THESE PROJECTS THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE A DELIVERY METHOD AFTER DISCUSSING WITH LEGAL COUNSEL AND FOLLOWING THE TEA GUIDELINES FOR ESSER AND WHAT WAS REQUIRED.

SO I'M BRINGING TODAY THE DELIVERY METHOD FOR THE ESSER PROJECTS WILL BE CSP, AS WE NORMALLY DO HERE AT THIS DISTRICT FOR THESE TYPE OF PROJECTS, THESE LARGE PROJECTS.

SO IT'S JUST HAVING THE APPROVAL OF THE DELIVERY METHOD FOR THE PROJECTS AND ALSO THE ACTUAL RESOLUTION.

SO THE RESOLUTION ACTUALLY GOES THROUGH AND IDENTIFIES THE PROJECT AND THE DELIVERY METHOD.

AND AGAIN, I'VE GIVEN A KIND OF A TIMELINE FOR CURTIS CALDWELL CENTER.

AT CURTIS CALDWELL, PART OF THIS PROJECT, THEY'RE GOING TO BE BASICALLY GETTING BIO IONIZATION, WHICH IS BASICALLY A DEVICE THAT WILL GO IN THE EXISTING DUCTWORK TO BASICALLY KILL THE VIRUSES THAT COME THROUGH THE DUCTWORK TO GIVE US FRESHER AND CLEANER AIR IN OUR FACILITY THERE AT THE TRIPLE C.

AND IT ALSO IS GOING TO BE RECOMMISSIONING SOME OF THE EQUIPMENT THAT'S ALSO BEEN IDENTIFIED TO HAVE SOME TYPE OF ADJUSTMENTS FOR ANY KIND OF RECOMMISSIONING AND RECOMMENDATIONS MOVING FORWARD FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED AS PART OF THIS PROJECT.

ALSO NORTH GARLAND AND SOUTH GARLAND GYMNASIUMS, THE ROOFTOP UNITS HAVE OUTLIVED THEIR LIFE CYCLE.

WE'VE JUST PUT IN SOME BEAUTIFUL HARDWOOD FLOORS THAT THE BOARD WAS GRACIOUSLY APPROVED LAST YEAR, AND WE DON'T WANT TO LOSE THOSE GYM FLOORS. THOSE GYM FLOORS ARE ABOUT A HALF A MILLION DOLLARS AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN KEEP THOSE FLOORS FOR MANY, MANY YEARS TO COME.

AS YOU CAN SEE, THIS PROJECT ALSO-- THE DURATION IS PRETTY MUCH FROM JUNE THROUGH TO THE END OF THIS YEAR, MAYBE GOING INTO THE PART OF NEXT YEAR.
