ON OUR PROP A, PROJECT PHASE ONE BID PACK ONE, WHICH IS OUR SOFTBALL BASEBALL IMPROVEMENTS.
WE CONTINUE TO MAKE REALLY GOOD PROGRESS ON THAT.
AND SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT. ON PART THREE, WE ARE WORKING ON A DEMOLITION SOLICITATION.
SO THIS MONTH WE'LL ACTUALLY SOLICIT FOR A DEMOLITION PORTION.
SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT. AND THAT THAT WILL BE THE THE CULMINATION OF THIS PROJECT HERE.

THE FIELDS THAT ARE HAVE BEEN REDONE THEIR LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL.
AND SO WE'RE MAKING VERY GOOD PROGRESS ON THAT.
THE FIELD HOUSE AND MULTI-PROGRAM ACTIVITY CENTERS.
WE CAN REPORT THAT. MOVING FORWARD, THERE'S ONLY ONE.
ONE SITE THAT WE LACK A BUILDING PERMIT FOR, AND THAT'S LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL.
WE RECEIVED THE BUILDING PERMITS FOR ALL THE OTHERS.
NOW, I WILL SHARE THAT ROWLETT AND SACHSE ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT IN THAT HOW THEY DO THEIR BUILDING PERMITTING, THEY WILL ACTUALLY NOT PROVIDE US THE ACTUAL PERMIT UNTIL THEY COMPLETE THE SITE, WORK AT THOSE SITES.
AND THE SITE ENGINEERING GROUP ACTUALLY APPROVES THAT WORK.
SO A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM EACH MUNICIPALITY.
WHEREAS GARLAND WILL ACTUALLY ISSUE YOU THE ACTUAL PERMIT FOR BUILDING.

ON THE FREEMAN ELEMENTARY, WE HAVE APPROVED, THANK YOU TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR APPROVING GMP NUMBER TWO IN FEBRUARY. I CAN SHARE WITH YOU THAT WHILE THIS IS A SITE PERMIT IS ANTICIPATED IN MAY, WE ARE WORKING REALLY HARD WITH THE CITY OF GARLAND TO EXPEDITE THE SITE, PERMITTING FOR THAT PROJECT. WE HAVE WORKED WITH THE CONTRACTOR.SAME THING WITH KIMBERLIN ACADEMY. GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH A COUPLE OF REVIEWS WITH THEM.
I'M BEING TOLD FROM THE BUILDING OFFICIAL THAT THE MAJORITY OF DEPARTMENTS HAVE COMPLETED THEIR BUILDING REVIEW, BUT THE BUILDING PERMITS WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL THE SITE PERMIT IS RELEASED.
AND SO THAT PROCESS GOES BACK AND FORTH WITH THE CITY OF GARLAND AND OUR DESIGN PROFESSIONALS.
ON LAKEVIEW, CENTENNIAL AND NAAMAN FOREST. WE PLAN ON BRINGING YOU THE GMP FOR THIS ONE NEXT MONTH.
FOR THAT PROJECT, WE'VE DONE A LOT OF WORK ON GETTING THAT READY FOR YOU.

THAT'S THE FIRST THING. THE SECOND THING IS TO PROVIDE OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF A SECURED PERIMETER AREA WHERE THEY CONGREGATE DURING THE DAY THAT THEY ARE PROVIDING INSTRUCTION.

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAFE.THEY FEEL SAFE. AND SO THAT'S PART OF WHAT WE ARE DOING HERE TODAY.
THEY GO OUT AND PLAY IN DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES, WHETHER THEY'RE PLAYING ON THE SOCCER FIELD, WHETHER THEY'RE PLAYING ON THE PLAYGROUND. ALL OF THOSE AREAS, DEPENDING ON THE CAMPUS ARE NOT REALLY SECURE.
YOU CAN ACCESS THOSE FROM THE ROAD. THE GOAL HERE IS TO FORCE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ENTER THAT AREA.
THAT ALLOWS YOU TO GAIN ACCESS INTO THE BUILDING, WHICH THEN ALLOWS YOU TO GAIN ACCESS INTO THE OUTSIDE AREA WHERE OUR STUDENTS ARE RECEIVING THEIR EDUCATION. AND SO THAT'S THE PURPOSE.
WE ARE NOT CONTRARY TO WHAT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT THINK.
WE'RE NOT PUTTING FENCES IN FRONT OF OUR BUILDINGS AND FORCING OUR VISITORS, PARENTS TO COME IN THROUGH A GATE BEFORE YOU GET INTO THE FRONT DOOR.
THAT IS NOT THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT HERE. SO THAT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IS AWARE.
I WILL SHARE WITH YOU THAT THERE ARE DISTRICTS THAT ARE DOING THAT.
ONE THAT COMES TO MIND AND YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

AND OF THOSE FOUR TEAMS, THEY, THEY DEVELOPED FOUR SEPARATE CONCEPTS PRESENTED TO EACH OTHER AND DECIDED ON WHO WON BEST, THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR THAT. FROM THAT, WE DEVELOPED A NUMBER OF OPTIONS.
